Expérience négative: First time renter here. Personally, I did not have a good experience renting from Drummer. I experienced many issues with management and the rental property. Various issued include: - Kevin acknowledged that the previous tenant did not clean the oven during the pre-inspection check and did not update the pre-inspection sheet before I had signed it. He misrepresented the condition by writing “clean” on the sheet. I understand as a tenant, it is my responsibility to ensure the pre-inspection sheet is accurate before signing, however, there was no honesty and integrity from Kevin. I also paid an additional cleaning fee when I moved out because I could not remove the stains on the oven that the previous tenant had left and just used it as is throughout my stay. - Inquired about parking for the unit and Kevin advised me to contact the City to obtain a permit. I applied as soon as I got the apartment, however, my application was declined as the previous tenant had not cancelled their permit yet. Since I moved in early, I decided to wait until Oct to apply again. In the meantime, I thought it would be okay to park in the 2 hr zone until I got a ticket and had to reach out to Kevin to have the previous tenant cancel their permit. - Kevin also casually mentioned a prior leak in the unit AFTER I signed the papers for the rental. Throughout my leasing term, the bedroom had dripping sounds in the ceiling and walls. It made it difficult to sleep in the bedroom and I had to sleep in the living room many times on the couch. I made a request to maintenance and there was nothing done about it. - The shower door also did not close properly and the maintenance company could not fix it. - Issues with internet connection in my unit. My manager called is refugee internet because I kept disconnecting during our calls. A stable internet connection is important as I partially work from home. Due to this issue, I had to go to the office more and spent more money on gas and parking. - Lastly, I moved out of the apartment building early and had forgotten to get my internet provider’s equipment (it is drilled into the wall behind a panel) and had reached out to see if they could contact the current tenant for me. I waited a week and no response so I followed up. As you can see in the email attached, the tone of the staff is unnecessarily defensive. Instead of just acknowledging my follow-up and giving a simple update, they made a point of reminding me of my “responsibility” and excused themselves from helping further. If it is difficult to contact the current tenant, that part of the message would have sufficed. I understand we all make mistakes and don’t get me wrong, money is not an issue here. My experience reflects a lack of care, which is something many previous people had praised Drummer for, and one of the main reasons I choose to rent from Drummer. I did my best to research but ultimately fell short in certain areas.

Expérience fantastique: In April 2022, my parents decided to sell their home and I had to start finding a place to rent. I found a place in Dover SE in May 2022, the landlady seemed great at first but by July, differences arose and I knew I had to find another rental unit quickly. I applied to dozens of places on Rentfaster and it seemed in the height of the rental market, vacancy was very low. Then Kevin from Drummer Realty & Property, messaged me to view a location in Crescent Heights. Kevin did a wonderful job showing me the unit & how the rental would work should I be approved for the unit. Few days later, I was approved and I was amazed at the professional communication & care from Drummer. During my one year contract with Drummer, I felt at ease renting from a wonderful company that had provided a comfortable location for me to stay. Within the first weeks renting, Drummer had sent workers over to make sure things that needed replacing and fixed were all completed. In January 2023, the water in my unit & the building went out. The response was amazing by Drummer, the resident manager contacted Drummer to send a boiler technician to our building and within days our water was back up. It was only a temporary interruption and I was impressed by the quick action. Another notable situation, my unit came with a parking stall and since I did not drive or have a car, I noticed other cars parking in the space designated for me. I notified Kevin & he promptly advised me he will sort it out. After a few notes by the resident manager, the violating car did not park in my spot again and my visitors appreciated the efforts by Drummer. These are only a few noteworthy points appreciating the service and professionalism by Drummer Realty & Management. I had an amazing stay and much appreciated the convenience of the location and the caring service by Kevin and the rest of the staff. Definitely look into offerings by Drummer Realty & Property Management if you are in the market to rent a place. I highly recommend this company to meet and exceed all your needs.
