Expérience fantastique: We had a pleasant experience with the leasing Agent “Chacha”. She met us on the scheduled time in the lobby and took her time to explain the units and amenities it offered. We had flown in from Toronto, complete strangers to City of Winnipeg, and were happy with the units she showed and took us to even a better unit which we ended up applying for. She was courteous, knowledgeable and understood our needs as the apartment was for our daughter. She even sent us a video of the apartment upon our request to show it our family. Thanks Chacha again for all your assistance. Really appreciated.

Expérience fantastique: I have lived at 191 Cathedral since 2022. Thorwin properties has managed the bldg for the past few years. They are an axcellent management company. bldg manager Nicolette, just excellent. Very friendly, approachable and always attended to any issues that have come up, immediately. I cannot say enough good things. The cleanliness of the bldg perfect, really, just an in enjoyable place to live. They have just sold the bldg and I definately will be moving so I can live in a bldg Thorwin manages.

Expérience négative: Leaves residents hanging until the end of the month, when they pass the buck to the new management they've just sold to, forcing BRAND NEW TENANTS to pay hundreds of dollars in late fees and extra charges which would've been prevented if someone had bothered to do their job.

Expérience fantastique: My two kids and I moved in here April 2024 (it was a different company then) about roughly 6 months later throwin took over, they instantly started updating everything. The staff has been amazing to my kids and I, we absolutely love living here. They’re quick to respond to issues/questions and are always very helpful/respectful. The families here are also amazing. When my heater stopped working during Winnipeg’s winter, he responded promptly and arranged an electrician right away. The issue was resolved in under 12 hours, and heat was fully restored. Dare is professional, reliable, and attentive to tenant concerns. Highly recommended.

Expérience fantastique: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 I do mechanical work for Nadine on several of the buildings she manages, and every single one of them is always well-kept, in great shape, and extremely clean. She’s incredibly professional to deal with, very detail-oriented, and genuinely wants the best for her tenants. I recently started looking for my own place, and I knew right away that I wanted to be with Thorwin Properties—specifically with Nadine as the property manager. I reached out to her in hopes she could find something for me, and she went above and beyond. She searched through the area she manages, sent me multiple videos, personally went down to the unit, gave me detailed information, and helped me every step of the way. Because of her hard work, I signed the papers today for my first place. I’m extremely excited to be both working with Nadine and now living in a Thorwin-managed building. Thorwin is a great property management company overall, but their managers—especially Nadine—are truly outstanding. Nadine, thank you so much for all the time, effort, and care you put into helping me find the perfect place. If I could give you more than five stars, I absolutely would. Expérience négative: The resident manager hasn't been very helpful, and it takes them a while to respond to messages. Also Brianna, they're not very accommodating either. Another issue is the weekly water interruptions in the building. They claim to send emails to inform us about the outages, but I never receive any emails.

Expérience positive: The Resident Relations Manager, Ron, is very prompt with responding to any issues and getting them fixed. I find dealing with Thorwin Properties is very difficult. I've had issues with my rent payments since I've moved in. The website, to set up your rent payments, is not user friendly and trying to speak to anyone if you have an issue is impossible. They also don't give you notifications of rent renewals and rent increases, so if you forget to change your information on the website they wait 5 days then send you a notice and a late fee. If you make an error by filling in the fixed rent section and the variable rent section, then you end up paying two months worth of rent in one shot, but don't expect them to pay the NSF charge when they've emptied your bank account.They will not inform you if you do overpay, either. What happened to giving a void cheque and getting rent renewal notices?

Expérience fantastique: I just wanted to take the time to commend and say job well done to my Resudent Manager Ron Flores. He has been more than fair and has properly investigated incidents that anyone else would most likely fail or not be impartial. There has been complaints against me or my apartment for noise that was never my fault as it has come from boilers in my apartment, when they kickstart or turn on. But I have always informed Ron the next morning when I feel a certain tenant will complain when they have been unreasonable and at times unstable when I hear them yelling and swearing towards me or my apartment. If it wasn’t for Ron. I feel would have been thrown under the bus many a time.

Expérience fantastique: My fridge broke down, and I submitted a repair request through the landlord’s website. The building manager, Darren, contacted me right away and arranged an inspection. Since repairing the old fridge would have been too costly, a completely new one was delivered the next day. He was attentive to my requests and even followed up afterward to make sure everything was working well. I really appreciate his quick response and professionalism. Thank you Darren!

Expérience fantastique: Had an emergency housing crisis with 1 weekend to find new residence, found a few listings and made several viewing inquiries and Nadine from Thorwin responded right away with available options and was able to meet, view and get the paperwork sorted. Just exceptional understanding of the emergency, and both the administration and property manager were so quick to respond, I had everything completed a couple days later. Saved me loads of time, stress, and logistical nightmares.... and the tenant onboarding package is pretty helpful. Thanks Nadine and Thorwin for saving my arse.

Expérience négative: I have been living at 5 Valhalla Drive for over a year now. I want to start by saying that Nicolette, the on-site resident manager, has been absolutely wonderful — professional, attentive, and by far the best resident manager I’ve ever dealt with. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Thorwin’s property manager, Brianna. First, our building at 5 Valhalla Drive underwent underground parking renovations, which left us without parking for over two weeks — essentially half the month. Despite paying for our stalls, the “compensation” we received was minimal and didn’t come close to reflecting the cost, stress, and daily hassle of scrambling for street parking during that time. The first time I raised the issue, I waited a week without any response until I followed up again — only then did I finally get an answer. Brianna’s handling of the situation was dismissive, and she showed no willingness to make things right. Second, internet service was promoted as being included in rent when we moved in. It’s been over a year, and not only has it never been provided, but there’s also been zero transparency about when (or if) it will actually be available. Every time I ask, I get the same vague answer: “it’s in the works.” This feels like false advertising — Thorwin used internet as a selling point before we signed, but conveniently left it out of the lease so tenants can’t hold them accountable. Overall, my experience at 5 Valhalla Drive has been extremely disappointing. While Nicolette is incredible and deserves all the credit in the world, Brianna and Thorwin’s upper management have been unprofessional, unresponsive, and misleading. Tenants deserve honesty and fair treatment, and sadly, that has not been my experience here.

Me and my three children moved out of the rental in November 2020 right away as soon as a fire took place in the building. I completed hauling and vacated my unit 2nd week of November. They are charging me for NOV and DEC plus paint job of the unit.... Tenant frustration due to fire is enough reason to immediately vacate the building. I wouldn't even say I abandoned it because it was communicated that I am leaving. I have security deposit there of $575. That they could have used for whatever paint job they needed. But no adamant that I owe them $1,829 for November and December because they say it is what the ledger says according to Brianna

To clarify our process: when a resident needs to leave early, we require written notice, approval from Property Management, a scheduled move-out inspection, and key return. Charges, including rent during the notice period, are based on the lease terms and the approved move-out date. Any painting or repair costs are assessed after the inspection, and the security deposit is processed according to the lease and applicable regulations.

In particular, Resident Manager Darren Delorme has been very responsive and supportive. He arranged for more recycling bins for residents, which makes our community healthier and more environmentally friendly. He also helped me adjust my parking stall, and quickly organized repairs for both my stove and heater. Everything was handled efficiently and with care. Management team’s support and professionalism make living here much easier and more comfortable. Highly recommend!

Expérience négative: Thorwin has had their garbage bin at 1740 Taylor overflowing for a month +, and refuses to remove it. They just keep redirecting the blame to the City of Winnipeg, even though the City is clear that they won’t pick up broken bins especially with wasps all over. Thorwin’s blatant disregard for both their own tenants & other residents in the area is absolutely unacceptable, and shows the quality of their property management.

Expérience négative: As a tenant I was charge for a plumbing issue. I had been having problems with a blockage in the shower since moving in. I continuously used drain cleaner until it was doing nothing. I put in a work order. The plumber came and cleared up the issue. Then Thorwin charged me $300 for having the pipe cleaned out and the clog was probably not my fault. I was not notified before the work was done and therefore had no choice to find a cheaper plumber. They will not speak to me about the issue and just send me a monthly reminder about the outstanding cost. Be careful if you are a tenant of Thorwin and need an issue such as plumbing resolved. Find out who pays or you may receive a costly surprise.

Expérience positive: As a resident of Molson Gardens for 13 years, I had my doubts first when Thorwin took over of Molson because we were just so used to the bad communication of the previous property management that when thorwin stepped in I felt like nothing was going to change. To my surprise Thorwin management is quite fast and responsive to my email inquiries, they give regularly notices to the residents to keep them in the know, & I’m very pleased with the renovated unit & the fact that we can have pets. Expérience fantastique: I’m glad that Thorwin Properties took over managing Briarwood Apartments. The last time I tried to look for an apartment there, the management was really poor and we couldn’t even get a hold of them to view the apartment. In contrast to the much better experience we had this time, renting and moving into Briarwoods. In particular, I have to give a shoutout to Abby, for her assistance throughout the whole process! She was friendly and communicated everything with ease and clarity.

Expérience fantastique: The rental and application process was very easy and quick. I was able to see an apartment the very next week. Abby was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Expérience fantastique: I posted a review previously however I couldn’t not post another one! Our property manager Laura has been nothing but amazing and extremely responsive and helpful. Any issues we have she is on them right away and is in contact with me about dates repairs will happen. I’ve never had such a positive experience with property management this is definitely a change from previous rentals! Super greatful for Laura anyone would be lucky to have her in their corner.

I recently moved to 88 South Park Drive and have been fortunate to have Darren as my property manager, as he has responded very quickly to both my questions and requests. Just this week, I made a request regarding the refrigerator, and Darren came personally to see the problem and even offered to replace the refrigerator with a new one, which is fantastic, right? I am very happy to have Darren as my property manager; he knows how to solve problems and pays attention to details. I think I am going to have a great experience living in my current home thanks to Darren.

After submitting the application, I received a response within just a few minutes. Following the apartment viewing, I sent in my documents, and my application was reviewed the very next day. Expérience fantastique: Chacha was extremely helpful in assisting us to find a new place to call home. She was informative and thorough, originally I viewed a smaller unit but had mentioned there was a larger unit that I was hoping to secure and call home for our little family. She wasted no time in getting a date for us to view the unit I had originally wanted! Thank you chacha the unit needs some work but thorwin is working with us to get everything done in a timely manner, the work order requests are dealt with promptly which is something I haven’t experienced in a long time renting which is super appreciated! Looking forward to making our new house a home :)
