Expérience négative: I rented through Rent It Furnished and had a dispute regarding a move-out cleaning charge. After approximately two months of the Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) dispute resolution decision, the RTB issued a Monetary Order in my favour. Following the decision, I issued a written demand for payment; however, as of the date of this review, payment has not yet been received. I am therefore proceeding through the formal enforcement process. Based on my experience, I recommend that anyone renting through Rent It Furnished keep detailed records and be familiar with the RTB dispute resolution process.

Expérience négative: Warning to future tenants — be very careful with this company. I’m currently dealing with a serious issue where they are holding over $5,000 of my money. In my experience, they take advantage of tenants and handle finances in a very questionable way, even withdrawing money directly from tenants’ bank accounts without proper explanation. Their communication has been extremely unprofessional and dismissive, and they show no respect for fair treatment or transparency. If you’re considering renting from them, make sure to document everything, keep detailed records of your payments and communications, and double-check every charge. I do not recommend this company based on my experience.

Expérience négative: Our condo was flooded from an upstairs neighbour and we were urgently looking for a 2-3 month rental while repairs were underway. When I contacted Rent It Furnished we were in a hotel that was about to double its rate and insurance had a limit for accommodations. Suffice to say, we were feeling very stressed. I contacted Rent It Furnished on a Thursday and saw the unit on Monday. I reiterated the situation and said we would move in that day if it was possible. We got the contract the next morning and spend most of the day trying to get insurance pre-approval. The agent stated we would need to make an e-transfer if we wanted to move in that day. I asked for the e-transfer address but was told it wouldn’t generate until after the contract was fully completed. The approval and signed contracts came back around 8pm and I set up automatic payments through their portal as prompted, knowing we could no longer move in same-day. The portal crashed and I sent screenshots and emailed the agent letting them know. Wednesday morning, just before checking out of our hotel, an IT person contacted me saying the payment went through and the agent contacted me saying I needed to make an e-transfer instead. I didn’t realize the e-transfer was required for _immediate_ access even if it wasn’t same-day. Since we had already sent them over $5000 we were not comfortable doubling the money through an e-transfer that has no insurance with our bank. I was unable to reach the agent that morning and could not confirm which payment method needed to be done. Shortly before checkout at noon the agent email introduced me to our landlords and told us to contact them for scheduling a move-in date. We had thought this was a managed property so were very surprised to learn there was another party involved and felt very worried about the deposit that had just gone through. With nowhere to go, we drove to the rental and spent the next couple hours on the sidewalk trying to get a hold of Rent It Furnished and our landlords. We moved in that afternoon, but the landlords weren’t aware we were coming that day or that we had leased the place for that day so it wasn’t ready to live in. There was no bedding, towels, cutlery, or dishes. The place hadn’t had a move out clean from the last tenant. Ultimately, I believe there were misunderstandings due to the urgency of the situation. We should of stayed the hotel for another week or so while payment cleared and the apartment could be prepared. It was a bad experience for us and added so much stress to our already stressful circumstance.

At Rent It Furnished, we offer multiple payment options to accommodate a variety of needs while also complying with BC tenancy regulations. Each payment method has a different processing timeline — from instant to up to five business days. In your case, the direct debit method selected requires five business days to clear, and for the protection of our property owners, we are unable to permit move-in until funds have been received.
The unit you rented is one of our landlord-managed properties. In these cases, our role is to facilitate the leasing process up until the lease is signed, at which point the landlord becomes the primary contact for the remainder of your stay. We recognize that this wasn't made sufficiently clear in your case, and we understand how this could have caused confusion — particularly during such a time-sensitive situation.
Our team was working hard to support your urgent request and expedite the process as much as possible. However, in doing so, some communication gaps unfortunately occurred between all parties. This is not typical of our service, and we deeply regret the additional stress it caused.
We're grateful we were ultimately able to get you into the unit that day, but we acknowledge the transition was far from ideal. Your feedback has been shared with our team and we are taking steps to ensure clearer communication and better preparedness when supporting future clients in similar situations.

Expérience négative: Really bad experience with RentItFurnished. They are very good at collecting their payments, but when you need them, they leave you on your own. They placed a tenant without doing proper reference checks, who illegally rented my unit on Airbnb, refused to pay rent, stole a bunch of items and then skipped the country and disappeared. RentItFurnished took zero responsibility for their role in placing him without reference checks and it took me 4 years to recover the funds from the tenant. I honestly have no idea what they charge for.

Expérience fantastique: I have had THE BEST experience with this company and specifically Michelle B. She was so helpful and extremely responsive. Finding a rental in a city with lack of housing with 2 dogs in tow is very difficult but Michelle listened to me. If I am not suitable for the place I understand, but sending me an email and not following up or provide an explanation was so bad. Definitely, I do not recommend this agency due to the lack of professionalism.

We have never ask for photo taking and never receive any service. There is no one have ever contact me to schedule for photo taking either, we don’t even know where is this bill came from. But the “Immediately action” ,”overdue Warning “ email keep sending to me. Even after I called them and email them that they told me this was a mistake. I am a still getting it hour ago. Is this a scam or what? It is very annoying

Please note that this is an optional add-on, not a requirement and we are happy to provide free photos or have you upload photos you may have. The invoice for this service was created in the system but not paid, which is why no one contracted you for the service. The invoice has been voided and there is no charge due. We’re sorry for any confusion caused by the automated invoice reminders and are happy to assist you with your listing personally. Expérience négative: Unprofessional, dishonest and money hungry. This company is not to be trusted. I used them to manage my condo and they have caused me nothing but problems. First they got my invoice wrong and overcharged me well over the 8% and added fees that were never discussed with me. They lied to the tenant and charged both of us cleaning/ placement fees when the place was never clean. This company is dishonest and now has their accounts frozen by the BCFSA. Do not use.

We deeply regret the effect the BCFSA’s order has had on our thousands of clients and the general public who rely on us for essential services and housing.

Expérience négative: As a landlord, I'm extremely dissatisfied with the company. They push for 6-month rentals without disclosing the additional costs involved. I was surprised to discover they were charging me a 10% monthly fee on top of the first half month's rent without my consent. They claim it's for finding a tenant, yet they don't manage the unit. They only allow rent receipts through their portal, despite not managing the condo. Be cautious of hidden costs: -The 10% fee without managing the rental. -Move-in and move-out charges without transferring to the strata. -False advertising, requiring constant vigilance. -They even charged cleaning fees despite the unit being left clean, and they don't manage my unit. -Initially appealing, the company is ultimately untrustworthy, opaque, and their services create more problems and expenses than benefits.

Expérience négative: Edit: Rent it furnished promised a full refund and then changed their mind. I would rent through someone else I was you. I rented through Rent It Furnished for 4 months, when I vacated the property I was charged additional rent plus fees for the next month that I was no longer living in the unit. No one will return my phone calls and being passed around various email contacts who are blaming their automatic system. Very poor customer service, I wish I was dealing with another agency.

Aside from finding a tenant for me, I essentially did everything else myself as Rex and others completely ignored my emails and calls. I had to figure out payments myself and had no support or security. Ultimately would not recommend. OLD 2023: I've been working with Rex and the experience so far has been great. We got our place rented out in a couple of weeks, and Rex has been very communicative throughout the process. We'd definitely use Rent-it-Furnished again!

Expérience négative: Disappointing service, lack of email responses from Michelle, Kelly and Desiree when enquiring about specific flats, upcoming flats and arranging viewings. We followed up on emails with phone calls, the agents promised to get back to us via email - nobody got back to us. The odd email conversation we had with a Rent it Furnished agent was unsuccessful, mix ups with the flats we were enquiring about, they weren't proactive helping find accommodation and generally unwilling to help. We loved a number of flats on the Rent it Furnished website but were unable to secure any due to lack of proactiveness on their part. Overall really disappointing.

Something simple like getting vents cleaned is taking months (even with the strata arranging the service they did not show up or flag they missed the appointment) for months I've given them the chance to rectify various issues and made no progress. Even the billing is incorrect. I have no idea what my property management fees are covering at this point I assume the fee covers nothing and it is a scam. (We've been with this company for years, pre-covid they were wonderful, past that the negligence and inability to get a straight answer/anything done has been mind boggling).

Expérience négative: We’re using RentItFurnished and they consistently make a barely bare minimum effort. They collect the rent and do accounting and nothing else….my tenant gets tired of not hearing from them and comes right to me. When we flag the issue they essentially shrug…because they know that if we fire them and keep our tenant, we still have to pay them a monthly finder’s fee. Oh, and the property manager changes every few months so we never know who to talk to. Use a smaller company.

The agent I dealt with Katie stood me up at a listing and while I waited 30 minutes outside in the cold she ignored all texts, phone calls and email. She only reluctantly apologised weeks later after I followed up with the organisation but took no accountability for ignoring texts and phone calls while I waited outside for the viewing. After a half-apology (no apology or explanation for ignoring multiple calls, texts, and emails while I stood out in the cold) she never followed up with any other listings. My experience with this agent told me this organisation is only interested in high end clients where the rental commission are high and will leave others waiting out in the cold.

Expérience fantastique: Kelly is really helpful with searching for an apartment that I like. I reached out to her online and was happy that she actually got back to me. She is prompt in replying emails, and handles everything well for me. There was an incident where I wasn't able to make payment through the portal and when I told Kelly about it, she immediately followed up with the IT team and made sure the issue was resolved the next day. First month there was a shortfall in the rent sent which they blamed on the tenant. Now, the second month I am yet to receive any rent payment at all!!?! These are the names of the people I have been working with and they have been very callous and hardly even take the time respond back to my situation. JORDAN GILL, OLIVER STOWE, ALEANA MOKHART. I can forward email correspondences if anyone in your company needs them. SOMEONE PLEASE HAVE MY RENT SENT. You are having a tenant sitting in my unit and not paying me the rent owed properly! This is supposed to be the most basic part of the service you are supposed to provide. Ridiculous! However, your team has ensured that all your fees have been deducted right on time and accurately. EDIT : This is an update on the situation and also a reply to the response below. 1) The tenant is now showing all signs of being a professional squatter. I have paid 1400 in tenant placement fees and 295 as a set up fee to RIF, and this is what I get? What is the due diligence that has been done from your end to approve this tenant? And no, I did not approve this tenant, as Jordan Gill stated that 'Time is of the essence', and basically gave me no choice in approving this tenant. Till date, I don't even know the name of this tenant. I would like to see how you verified this tenant. Kindly furnish proof of your due diligence. 2) Oliver stowe has indicated that you are going to be using the tenant's security deposit to pay yourself another 1400 dollars to go look for another tenant! Meanwhile, I am losing my rent payments and God know what other expenses I will have to incur down this road. We don't know about potential damages to property and furnishing. Like I mentioned in the review, you seem hyper focused on paying yourself, no matter the cost to your clients

I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an apartment rental. She always responded immediately, moved through the process very quickly & efficiently, and was super helpful at every stage.
Expérience négative: Never pay any despite not matter what, just the damage deposit, I repaid 3 months rent and have to get legal counsel to claim back my money after they company took the unit, and most likely rent it to someone else, very likely double dipping with my deposit. It is my mistake to trust that I would get paid back. Unfortunately some matters have to be brought up to the BC Residential Tenancy Branch and have to deal with it through the legal way. It’s pity to have bad experience twice from a company with high rating. This comment to help others avoiding my mistake!

We regret that you found your experience with Rent it Furnished to be less than satisfactory. However, as our agent explained you’ve chosen to break your lease agreement. According to the BC Residential Tenancy Act, you are liable for the rent until the end of the term. We’ve received your request to use your prepaid rent on file until we find a new tenant, also, we explained that even though we completed a move-out and collected the keys, we couldn’t return the rent, but the damage deposit. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and your responsibilities when breaking the lease, we are more than happy to give you more detailed information. Expérience négative: Update July 2022:. 12 months have gone by and in turning over the apartment the Property Management Company have stayed true to their word and have refunded the cleaning fee (which would have been unnecessary had they done what was supposed to be done). They, however, are trying to make up for the loss and are trying to charge a service fee for a malfunctioning washing machine which has been faulty since day one. There was an intermittent issue with it and as they have been unable to fix it they are trying to charge for the service call. It's the height of pettiness. Turns out the apartment has no ventilation at all. Imagine 30C and no ventilation in a glass box in the city. Original post August 2021: Property was filthy upon arrival. Broken window, non-functioning blinds, half painted walls. Property managers were stand offish when issues were brought up and even the Ops manager just provided excuses for why things were the way they were. They are working on things now after we created a fuss but you shouldn't have to make some noise to fix basic things like ensuring the property is clean prior to a client arriving at the apartment.

The washing machine was checked by one of our PMs in addition to a technician and was deemed in good working order. We also provided assistance and guidance on how to use it for its best performance. In addition, we did not receive notice of heat or A/C being an issue within your unit, we do acknowledge that Vancouver reaches high temperatures in the summer. Again, we have done our best to ensure that your concerns were addressed in a timely manner. Expérience fantastique: We met Michelle through a referrel while we were trying to rent our apartment unit in Vancouver downtown recently. She was able to set a meeting and visit our unit in a few days. She provided us with all the necessary information that we needed about both the services that they provide and necessary steps to rent a unit in Vancouver. Then she took all the photos of the condo and the rest was an effortless finding our tenants experience! Michelle asked our preferences and paid extra attention to our priorities throughout the process and always kept us in loop. Soon she was able to match us with reliable candidates who are trying to move to Vancouver from outside the city. She also took care of all the necessary paperwork and communication during the tenancy agreement phase. We cannot thank Michelle enough for making things extra smooth for us. We will definitely work with her in future if needed and we highly recommend everyone to ask her name when they contact the office!

Michelle is prompt, courteous and professional. We really lucked out having her as our realtor.
