Expérience négative: The list of bad experiences we've been dealt with this company is beyond sad. They DO NOT look after the buyer's best interest. We were advised numerous times to bid way above asking price. We were made to lose on potential deals because Zown did not bother sending updated, recurrent house posts. We were made to lose deals because Zown allows the seller nearly 24 hours to decline a counter offer, when most agents fight for their clients and give a short reply time frame. We were made to follow up on our down-payment check return, weeks after deals fell through. And ONLY after said follow up did we get an interest from Zown to follow up on our downpayment. What morally ethical agent would recommend a client to place an offer $25,000 OVER ASKING PRICE on an old unit worth $500,000 at best? They are selfish greedy crooks. Beyond sad that we wasted well over a year with this company. What a total waste of time and opportunities. Please, avoid them. I tell you truthfully, avoid them. Save your 1.5 percent closing cost and avoid them.

The financial side of it is definitely the biggest draw. However, you should be prepared for a process that feels a bit fragmented. We had a realtor leave midway through without notice and it was a headache having to find a replacement and re-explain our search criteria from scratch. There was zero internal knowledge transfer, which was pretty frustrating. You also have to get used to the "split" roles; the agent at the viewing usually isn't the one drafting your paperwork. This led to some confusion on pricing since the main assigned realtor is advising you on a property they’ve never stepped foot in, relying mostly on sales data rather than the actual condition of the home. It’s a good service, but you definitely have to be the driver. The agents manage a high volume of clients, so they aren't always available at a moment’s notice. Especially in the current buyer's market, you could miss an opportunity if you aren't already aware of how things work. If you’re okay doing your own neighbourhood research and putting in a lot of time and effort in exchange for the extra cash, it’s a solid option to use Zown!

Positives - The platform is streamlined and works well for those who prefer a tech forward way to handle transactions. - If you know what you’re doing, the system provides a solid framework to get to the finish line. - Transparent pricing and cash back that actually really matters when it comes to increasing your purchasing power. Things to Keep in Mind While we were happy with the end result, there were a few hurdles: - We experienced some realtor turnover during our journey. Because there wasn’t a seamless knowledge transfer between agents, we had to ask for a new one by ourselves and start the relationship over and repeat our requirements again, which was frustrating. - You definitely need to take the initiative. Don't expect a concierge service where someone is constantly "on their toes" for you. Because agents handle multiple clients simultaneously, their motivation feels lower than a traditional model and attention can feel divided. Don't expect them to be available at all times for you. - Not every agent is an expert in every neighborhood, so you may need to do your own heavy lifting regarding area specific research. The ones who came with us for the viewings weren't informative either. - Keep in mind the actual realtor is different than what you're assigned to, so you may need to explain what you saw in the viewings to them to take the next step of giving an offer and that creates a confusion when it comes to pricing, because a lot properties look different in person which the realtor never gets to see. Final Verdict Zown is a good choice if you’ve been through the process before and/or know how to drive this bus. However, if you are a first-time homebuyer looking for high-touch hand-holding service that you'd get from a traditional realtor, this might not be the right fit. It works well, provided you are ready to be your own strongest advocate!

From the beginning, Zown was quick and efficient. We requested viewings late on a Friday night (around 10-11 PM), and they made it happen. That being said, there were challenges along the way. Our closing was delayed due to a lender issue, and we were hit with penalties. While this wasn’t Zown’s fault, their broker partner stepped up and covered the costs, which was a huge relief. After closing, we discovered drywall damage, and once again, Zown took responsibility, covering the contractor fees to fix it. Another hiccup was that the lawyer team didn’t advise us about securing home insurance, which could have been a serious problem. However, Zown stepped in again, negotiating fee discounts on our behalf, helping to offset the costs. On the strategic side, they gave us great advice, like recommending a pre-inspection so we could go firm on offer night, ultimately helping us win the bid in a competitive market. Despite the hurdles, Zown consistently had our backs, ensuring that we weren’t left to deal with unexpected costs on our own. Overall, I think Zown’s services are great and offer significant value, but there’s room for improvement, particularly in streamlining communication and providing additional training for realtors to ensure a smoother experience.

Expérience fantastique: Used Zown for buying & Selling. Everything was transparent. Buying & Selling for us was a very stressful time. Zown was able to make the process simple. We had our house listed for less than 2 weeks and was already sold at a price we were happy with given the current market. The buying side is interesting, for us anyway, you don't have your realtor that walks through with you so you need to make sure you do your due dilligence when walking through the home. Example, finding out the area, what are the other homes selling for? What are your needs? Would you be okay with being in that particular location? Is it close to schools etc? These are questions that YOU need to ask yourself as the person that walks through with you will not. They remain true to the cashback that is offered. The overhead cost is much cheaper for them which allows them to share that portion of commision with you, the buyer - I like this tactic. I think what they are doing is great as it switches up the traditional way realtors work. People paying 5-6 % commision for what? Overally, happy to use Zown again for our next purchase.

As a FTHB, I wanted to simplify my process as much as possible, which led me to Zown after due research.
