Expérience négative: My partner and I reached out to Grace Collins at Fox Marin in early June to help us find a rental. We were transparent about being students and needing a place before July 31st. She asked for a long list of documents, which we provided. Then, she requested a guarantor — which we arranged. Shortly after, she said we’d need two guarantors. We got the second one, and she assured us all of this work would help us avoid disappointment. After a month of paperwork, calls, and emails, she suddenly told us she couldn’t work with us anymore — and advised us to check Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji instead. She had most of our documents within the first couple of weeks and could have told us much earlier. Instead, she strung us along, leaving us with less than 30 days to find a new place and no realtor support. We weren’t planning to leave a review, but the stress we’re under now — scrambling to find housing last minute — is something no one should have to go through. If you're a student or in a non-traditional financial situation, be cautious. Fox Marin may not be upfront about who they’re actually willing to help.
