He lied and told me a home that was on the market was "conditional" when it clearly was not! I had the cash to buy, and was willing to over pay! All I wanted was to view the home before buying, but he refused to show the house himself unless I had my OWN realtor present. He did not offer me an alternative option, proceeded to lie about the status of the house and hang up on me before I even had to chance to say a word. He was extremely rude and dismissive on the phone. Selling a home clearly wasn't in his interest. I was expecting a professional but instead, I felt like just another transaction. Do not buy from him if you are looking for attentive or reliable service, and do not sell with him unless you want your home to sit on the market to months, only to be sold under asking!

Expérience fantastique: Ed has been supporting the purchase of a condo in Ottawa while I have been overseas. We started on this over eight months ago, and finally sealed the deal this week. His professionalism has been exemplary. He advised at the start of the process, helped set up a steady flow of listings that I could review and gauge the market. He lined up viewings last July when I was visiting Ottawa, and then another batch in December when I was back for Christmas. We found one property I liked, but it had a conditional offer on it, with an escape clause for the seller. He helped me navigate my offer, and then a complicated attempt at purchase of agreement with the buyer that unfortunately didn't work out. Then we found another property, and here Ed really shined. He contacted the other agent informally, prepared the ground and managed expectations (down), and then advised me to put in an offer about $20K lower than I would have first thought. It worked -- I got the property for about $40K less than asking. His instincts were superb. He "read the room," gently pushed back when the counter-offer would have been significantly higher, and called the bluff. All that you could ask from an agent. On top of his professionalism and solid instincts, he is incredibly service-oriented and supportive. My circumstances (being overseas) created some complications, but Ed always found a way to support and to navigate toward the ultimate goal. Safe hands, good heart, sharp mind.
