Expérience négative: I don't usually leave negative reviews, and I honestly didn't want to write this one. Before posting this, I waited a few days hoping someone from the team would reach out so we could clear the air. I wasn't expecting some big apology, just a simple conversation. Unfortunately, that never happened. To me, that's not how real estate should be. It's a business built on trust, relationships, and how you treat people. It's not just about collecting a commission. Everything was fine while the deal was going smoothly. The problems started when things became complicated. One thing that really disappointed me was the landscaping. I assumed it would be included with a new build, but it wasn't written into the contract. By the time we found out, there wasn't much that could be done. Looking back, I feel like that's exactly the type of thing a realtor should be catching and discussing with their client before it's too late. The biggest issue for me was the advice around bridge financing. I was encouraged to move forward with bridge financing, while I had received advice not to because of the potential risks it could create for me. That's an incredibly stressful position to put someone in when you're already dealing with enough. I expected someone to help protect my interests and help me make the safest decision, not leave me feeling stuck between two completely different directions. As things became more difficult, I started feeling like the focus shifted more toward making sure the sale of my current home went through than protecting my purchase of my next home. From my perspective, I felt like I was the one taking on the risk while trying to make sure everything closed. Whether that was the intention or not, that's how it felt to me. By the end of everything, I just felt like I was on my own. I was constantly asking questions, following up, and trying to make sure nothing important was being missed. That's not what I expected when I hired someone to represent me through one of the biggest financial decisions of my life. Buying a home is probably the biggest financial decision most people will ever make. You want someone who's looking out for you, especially when things don't go according to plan. Unfortunately, that just wasn't my experience. I genuinely wish I could leave a better review because writing something like this isn't enjoyable. I just think people deserve to know what my experience was so they can make their own decision.
