Expérience fantastique: Jory Cole was our buy side realtor. We were moving from the U.S. to the Nanaimo area for our retirement and Jory was incredibly patient in working with us. We visited the area multiple times over 2 years, to make sure we understood more about what was available both north and south of Nanaimo and Jory took us to visit an incredible number of homes as we narrowed down our search and learned about the area. At one point, we found a house which would have been perfect. But Jory read through the disclosures very carefully and the sellers had tried to hide the fact they had done a major renovation (as in the entire house) and had not had any of it inspected. They had implied the changes were minor, but when we asked, we found out the truth. So basically, the sellers would have said nothing if we had not asked. It was really a great job on Jory's part to protect us as buyers. We finally found a house that had been on the market for years and both we and Jory thought it was overpriced when we originally learned about it. They finally dropped the price to within the ballpark range and Jory helped us structure our offer and negotiate a fair deal. We are now living in our dream house right on the ocean and we owe much of that to Jory and his patience and his directness in working with us to help us find the right property for the next 20+ years.

He was extremely responsive and did an amazing job suggesting properties we would like and coordinating viewings to make the most efficient use of our time. We felt like his advice throughout was always in our best interest and never felt like he was being pushy or trying to make a quick sale, as he provided tons of information that he had collected on each property, and also didn’t hesitate to point out areas of concern or potential drawbacks. He found two properties for us that we ended up putting offers on that we wouldn’t have even known about otherwise. When the first one didn’t work out (through no fault of his), we decided to pause our search until after our daughter was born and we really appreciated that he was happy to pull back on the search until we were ready, but still available if we saw anything that we wanted to check out. We were house-hunting in Nanaimo - moving from a condo to a house, and we began with what we thought were iron-clad criteria - close to downtown, easy walkability, a character home, etc. etc. Julien very patiently worked with us as he introduced us to unfamiliar neighbourhoods and listened as our "criteria" changed frequently. Nothing was too much trouble, and he never assumed a thing about our needs - he left us to discover what made sense to us. What my husband Stephen and I found reassuring about Julien was his matter-of-fact assessment of each home we toured. He pointed out potential pitfalls and highlighted positives, but not once did we feel he was pushing for a sale. Nor did we ever feel we were wasting his time; he assured us that he would show as many homes as we needed to see. Julien really wanted us to find the right home and two weeks ago we walked into our house and knew right away it was the one for us. The sale closed yesterday and it could not have gone more smoothly. Julien recommended the mortgage broker, Melanie and the inspector, Brad, and they were both beyond professional and helpful. Expérience négative: As realtors no idea, i went and viewed an open house and the the realtor showing the place kept on referring to the neighbors as noisy neighbors. Personally I'd think they could be prospective clients and i wasnt impressed by being called a noisy neighbors. I would think twice before using them because of it.
