IRENE SZABO REAL ESTATE AGENT GUELPH

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for a real estate agent to sell your home I highly recommend Irene Szabo. We worked with Irene to sell my 94 year old mother's house. It was no small feat. my brother and sister both had different ideas as to what the house was worth and my mom's response when asked about a listing price was "I don't care, just burn it". Undaunted Irene did considerable research for comparable properties, no small feat due to the unique nature of the property. After review of multiple comparables a listing price was agreed upon. Then came the hard part of cleaning out the house. Irene was indispenable in this area providing recommendations for junk removal companies, locations that would accept donations as well as places to list items for sale. It was approximately 3 months from our initial contact til the listing day. I would suggest time well spent as the house was on the market for only 2 days. It was listed on Thursday and the first of three offers came in at 6:30 that night. Friday my mom and I sat down with Irene at 6:30 and reviwed 3 offers, accepting a full price unconditional offer. In summary 2 days on market, 10 viewings, and 3 offers, one of which was unconditional for full asking price. I couldn't have asked for a more helpful or professional agent. If you are selling do yourself a favour and call Irene..

Fantastic experience: Irene was fantastic to work with. She was thorough, knowledgeable and personable in helping us with both selling and buying.

Fantastic experience: We were referred to Irene by a colleague after moving to the area, and we're so grateful we found her. As first-time homebuyers, we appreciated how knowledgeable, responsive, and patient she was throughout the entire process. She took the time to really get to know us and quickly understood exactly what we were looking for, making the home search feel easy. One thing we especially appreciated was her low-pressure approach. She generously shared recommendations for lawyers, inspectors, contractors, and other local resources, giving us the information we needed to make informed decisions without ever feeling pushed in any direction. It's also clear that she knows and genuinely loves Guelph, and her enthusiasm and local expertise were invaluable. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Irene to anyone looking for an exceptional realtor!

Fantastic experience: Irene recently helped us buy a house in Guelph and was beyond supportive and knowledgeable with answering all of our questions and doing the extra checks that we needed to feel comfortable about our choice in home. She even knocked on the neighbors door to see if the retaining wall was on their side or ours as it was unclear on the cities drawings. Beyond this, she recommended a great inspector and other professional supports in closing the deal with comfort and ease. Highly recommend this skilled woman who knows the industry very well after her 18+ years of experience!!

Fantastic experience: Irene understood exactly what we were looking for, and was a calm voice of reason in an otherwise very stressful time in our lives.

Fantastic experience: Irene sold our house in 2 days! She is always strategic and has a well thought out plan. The smooth sale was especially helpful for us because we have 3 kids. She's helped us buy two houses and close 4 house deals over the years and she’s always the best of both worlds - generous, kind, a good listener, while being direct, assertive and gets things done. We feel we get expert advice and amazing service every time.

Fantastic experience: Moved to Guelph from Toronto in February 2025 and friends highly recommended Irene to help us. She was great ... professional, available on short notice, and very knowledgeable. We found a place within 2 weeks and are still loving it. Thank you, Irene!!

She took time to really hear our current and projected needs from a house, and coached us through each step and challenge. From initial meetings to prepping and selling to moving into our new home the process was complete well within our time frame and our budget.

Fantastic experience: New to Guelph, and needed an agent very familiar with the city. Our friends highly recommended Irene and we are so pleased that they did. Irene was extremely knowledgeable about Guelph and the different areas. She was easy to work with, great at communication. Always had a vast amount of resources in the event we needed... and most importantly was able to close the deal on the house we wanted, for the price we wanted to pay! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an agent in this area.

Fantastic experience: Irene is spectacular. We are first-time homebuyers, and the process seemed so confusing and impossible at first--but Irene was there every step of the way. She made sure we knew exactly what we needed to do, and she truly made this possible for us. She's very honest and trustworthy as well. Irene's number one goal is to find her clients a home that they will love. At one point, we considered offering on a house that we weren't too sure about. Irene advised against it, even though she would have made a great commission on that house. She said that she thought she could find us something we would like better. She was right! We couldn't be happier with the house we are buying, and we couldn't be happier with Irene's work. Best real estate agent ever!

Fantastic experience: Irene was recommended to us by two friends. We wanted to sell our home in Guelph, and I can say that I would not hesitate to use Irene again. Fantastic experience: Being first time home buyers, we quickly realized that buying a house was not as easy as we thought it would be. That being said, once we got started with Irene, the process flowed quickly and we felt very supported. We cannot say enough good things about Irene. She is patient, forthcoming, honest, responsive and has a very calming presence! She is very well liked and respected by fellow realtors, lawyers, inspectors and anyone else in the industry that we met along the way and that in itself is testament to the great work she does and the network she has built to make the process easy for her clients from beginning to end. It’s not an easy process but with Irene in your corner, it’s definitely seamless and efficient.

From start to finish she was extremely on the ball and knowledgable (especially about the downtown Guelph housing market). She was always there to answer questions and respond to any of the urgent back-and-forths that happen when putting in offers. I really appreciated that she never pressured us to offer more money or go above what we wanted to spend, which I've heard is common. Irene is very personable and knowledgeable as well as straight-forward and honest. With her help, along with the help of her team, we managed to sell our house in less than a week...which is amazing considering the current climate in the real estate market and the fact that November isn't exactly prime time for selling houses. So far, as there are still a few more weeks to closing on our new place, the whole process has been very smooth. We are very excited to start the next chapter in our new home!
