Fantastic experience: Rest Easy has managed our condo in Ottawa Centretown for the last 8 years. I don't remember how we found them at the time but we're so happy that we did before moving across the world. As far as I'm concerned they are the best property management company out there. We have always been happy with their service. Scott and his team are outstanding. They are very professional, friendly, honest and always willing to help. What stands out the most is their responsiveness. Over all of 8 years they have always been on the ball in answering our queries or taking care of issues raised by the tenant. We've also always appreciated that they treat tenants with the same respect. In an industry ripe with companies trying to gouge tenants and landlords with high fees and mediocre service, Rest Easy is refreshing. Don't be put off by their somewhat outdated website :) if you're looking for a serious business to manage your property, don't think twice.

Negative experience: Scott made me feel as though we were wasting his time. We felt rushed doing a walk through and then his team failed to respond to our emails. Very rude.

Fantastic experience: Amazing property manager. They do the basics well (pick tenants, collect and deposit rent, respond to all calls and questions, provide multiple options to problems as well as their recommendation) but they also go a step beyond. When I told them we needed to sell our place, they recommended a realtor, told us our tenant was interested in buying it, and then when our tenant bought it, they let us out of our property management agreement early with no fee. We’ve had our share of property managers before, but I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else in the future as his company has been by far the best I’ve ever dealt with.

Fantastic experience: We rented a house in Ottawa through Rest Easy Property Management. We were returning to Canada from the Caribbean at the beginning of Covid. It was very difficult to get anything done at that time because of all the lock downs. Rest Easy helped us rent a house and took care of some problems with the house immediately. The entire staff were so great to work with. We moved to New Brunswick when we purchased a house. We highly recommend Rest Easy as a property management company. In todays world it is refreshing to deal with such a pleasant and professional company.

Fantastic experience: I've been with Rest Easy Property Management for over 7 years. I've placed my investment property in their care as I had to relocate to another province for work. They have been amazing every single year that I've been with them. From the very start, they found me incredible tenants. Since I'm out of province, they are my hands and feet in Ottawa, and I find their network of contractors and companies used for maintenance and repair to be very good. Fantastic experience: Rest Easy has been managing my rental property since 2014. They completely handled everything about listing the property for rent and then screening the prospective tenants. Once a tenant was found, Rest Easy would take care of all communications with the tenant, collect rent and provide me with detailed monthly/yearly statements. For someone who is not handy like myself, Rest Easy made sure the property was in good condition and would handle all the repairs and appliance breakdowns with their great network of trusted contractors while keeping me in the loop every step of the way. Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Rest Easy Property Management for about 2 years. Scott and his team have done an amazing job! The whole process was very smooth. Scott gave it to me straight when we were signing the contract. He came to visit the property and went over the whole contract with me in detail before signing. He very easily placed ads for the property, did walk throughs and was able to find an excellent tenant. The team has excellent communication and good network of contractors that are able to do work at subsidized prices. A few times they did the work for free (my tenant needed new bulbs for some appliances and they went out of their way to buy the bulbs and deliver them to the tenants free of cost). Their prices are very fair and I couldn't recommend them more. Nothing beats small business customer service and I would choose them over a big name property management company any day.

I was an 'accidental' landlord and it was absolutely worth it to have Scott and his team take good care of my property and the tenant for about three and a half years. It saved me driving to and from the property as well as fixing issues and taking calls from the tenant myself. When using Rest Easy you also have access to their network of trades. If you've ever tried to find a handyman to do a small job you realize how great it is for you and the tenant to have access this network. From finding and screening to the tenant, to handling the final walk through when the tenant moved out, Rest Easy professional and great to deal with, I highly recommend.

On a few occasions we needed immediate assistance, once because the washer machine broke and another time there was a leaky pipe. They were very quick to respond and resolve the issue. Fantastic experience: Rest Easy has a good team, and good trades. Payments are on schedule. If a tenant is late (which has only happened during Covid) they let us know promptly and work with the tenant. Repairs they arrange have worked out well. When we use our own trades, logistics have been smooth. Vacancies haven't been a problem. We're going on 8 years now.

I have to say that we made a good decision to hire the Rest Easy to manage our property two years ago. Negative experience: Very discriminatory company. Leaves out very important information to renters about properties. 90k a year plus a co-signor is not enough if you don't have perfect credit. Be very thorough in viewings unless you enjoy surprises like urine, mold and mustyness.

Fantastic experience: We hired REPM to manage our place for 1.5 years while we lived abroad. We were quite happy with the service at various stages, from advice on advertising and management, to finding tenants, to dealing with maintenance issues, to closing the tenancy. We would hire them if we were ever renting again.

Negative experience: worst service ,especially some unprofessional rude over the phone ,they responded to kind interests of ppl in a snobby ignorant attitude ,apparently they pick candidates depending on the mood of one of their unprofessional staff who named Tamara..but Tailor the manager sounds more aware how custemer service should be so he tried to fix her mess up !!.never take ppl seriously with no standards !!!good luck soon you gonna be out of business!!

Fantastic experience: I've rented from various companies for around two decades, the latter four spent with Rest Easy and my experience has never been better. They have always been quick when a repair is necessary, and are extremely fast at returning calls or emails. Louis and Taylor have been exemplary in all the times my wife or I have been in contact. When my furnace acted up during the cold snap, -40 temperatures, the owner of Rest Easy actually took it upon himself to call me late on a Saturday to see how he could help. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to rent, particularly long term.

Whenever our tenant discovers a problem or makes a suggestion, the team informs us quickly and proposes solutions and options. Our questions and requests are answered promptly, and it's so seamless to arrange for installations, replacements, deliveries, quotes, and anything else we need. We are very happy with Rest Easy's service as landlords, and for our tenants.

Negative experience: Don't expect a response via email if you reply to their Kijiji ads. If you talk to them on the phone, it seems you'll also never hear back to see the property. Disappointing service.

Negative experience: Had them as property managers and it required extensive involvement as a landlord, I'd get bothered with emails all the time for my units even with mundane things. I wouldn't recommend them if you are looking for a property manager.

Negative experience: Absolutely useless middlemen. I can say that, as a tenant, nothing was ever fixed quickly or easily. Everything required multiple follow ups and there are constant delays. The only issue they ever acted quickly was collecting rent. Communicating with Taylor Mah was extremely frustrating, and they never took responsibility for anything (they even blamed the owner for their mistakes!) So, if you just need someone to cash rent cheques and take a big cut for doing nothing then use Resteasy. Otherwise, if you value good service for your tenants and effective management, use someone else.
