Unfortunately, my recent experience helping my son with his first home purchase with David Weir’s team stands out — but not for the right reasons. Throughout the negotiation process, I found the team to be highly unprofessional, overly reactive, and resistant to constructive communication. Rather than facilitating a smooth transaction, their approach created an unnecessarily tense and adversarial environment that made doing business difficult. It was disappointing to see negotiations taken personally, rather than handled with the objectivity and professionalism one would expect from experienced agents. It’s especially disheartening to see this dynamic perpetuated by the next generation. Based on our interaction, Kyle Weir appears to be modeling the same defensive and uncooperative behavior, relying heavily on the reputation of the larger brokerage rather than earning trust through his own conduct. While I truly hope this experience was an exception and not reflective of how others are treated, the dismissive response we received from the team leader only reinforced the concerning culture I encountered. In a market full of capable, client-focused professionals, there is simply no need to settle for less. My advice? Our house sold in the first week and they dumped us on to another realtor in a limited area. This was the worst experience my husband Ian and myself have ever had with a realtor! Expérience fantastique: I have to 100%, without a moment's hesitation, recommend David Weir, Chelsea Weir, and the whole Weir Team for both buying and selling your home in the Trenton/Quinte West area! From the buying perspective, I had been living in Guelph, Ontario, so I contacted David, based solely on the other reviews I read about, and told him that I would be looking to purchase a home in the Trenton area "sometime within the next 6 months", after I retired. Even 6 months before our anticipated moving date, David drove around with my husband & I to various neighbourhoods and homes over the next 6 months, so when it came to the actual time to look seriously, David knew exactly what our personalities were like, what type of neighbourhood we were looking for, the type of house we were looking for, and exactly what our budget was. David nailed it 100% when he recommended a few homes to look at which seemed to be tailor-made for us! We have loved our home since the moment we moved in, and are now sad that we are moving away from this home and this neighbourhood. I honestly wish that I could take this home and neighbourhood with me when I move to Calgary. :-) As for selling the above-mentioned home, I contacted David as I was separating from my husband; unfortunately, that meant that there was no way that I could have paid my soon-to-be ex-husband out and continue living here. David provided me with a lot of VERY sensitive and helpful information considering the situation. David organized for a professional Home Stager to come into our home (at no extra cost to me) who provided me with advice as to what *needed* to be done versus what would be *nice* to have done. Her report was absolutely invaluable as that systematically guided me through our renovation, purging, and staging process. David also provided us with an evaluation of our home's value, taking into consideration the crazy upswing in home prices in early 2022, as well as the crazy downswing in home prices in late winter of 2023. His evaluation of our home's value was pretty close to being spot on as after 19 showings in 14 days, we had a conditional offer at approximately 98% of list price! Considering the wide swings in prices over the last 2 years, pricing our home so accurately is a feat worthy of a Gold Medal! David and Chelsea's communications have always been A++, far exceeding my expectations based on other real estate folks I've dealt with previously (this is now my 6th home that i've bought and sold over the space of 30 years). Also, appointments for showings of our home to potential buyers were always made with a suitable amount of "lead time" so we could do "tiny" bits of cleaning and organizing for the showings. :-) In summary, I honestly believe that you would be sorely mistaken by not considering Team Weir for your real estate buying and selling needs!! They honestly rate a 10 out of 10 in my experience!

Sold our house over asking within 6 days. I have used Dave a couple times now and will again on my next property. Chelsea was wonderful and helped with all showings and staging of our place. Expérience négative: Kyle & David Weir sold the empty lot next door to us. Photos of structures that are wholly on our property were posted in the listing. This was an obvious misrepresentation of the property for sale. We also found footprints in the snow coming from the listed property onto our property. An understandable mistake given the misleading photos from the listing. The property markers were visible and not covered in snow. We informed Kyle of these issues. Kyle did nothing to rectify the incursions or misrepresenting photos. The following weekend, there were further incursions onto our property. Again, we reached out to Kyle, explained that the images were still on the listing and that incursions were still occurring. The photos remained on the listing until after the sale was complete. The screenshoot attached was taken the day after the offers were accepted. The photos of our property were never removed from the listing. This is unacceptable and unethical to misrepresent a property and refuse to rectify the problem when they were informed. We raised the issue with David Weir after the sale. Both David and Kyle were unapologetic. The misrepresentation shouldn't have happened in the first place and should have been fixed with a single email. Instead, we had multiple emails and phone calls and still nothing was fixed. Knowing where the boundaries of the property that is being sold seems important for a real estate agent. We ended up finding the buyers agent ourselves and explaining the issues with the listing. We're looking forward to welcoming our new neighbours to this wonderful community.

Expérience fantastique: I have used David Weir and his team to sell my house in Trenton after retirering from the military. I had already done business with him years earlier when I purchased my first house in Belleville and I was then very pleased. I was a little worried at first as I was putting my house on the market during the "off season", early in March. David was straight forward about what to expect with the market which I appreciated as I don't like to have false hopes. Some may say he is a little blunt but when you are dealing with an investment as important as your house, you want the real facts. I followed his recommandations to make sure my property was attractive to potential purchasers. And it worked. I ended up with a quick sell and above listed price. Of course location and having a good property helped. David Weir is a busy man and I had to deal a lot with other people on his team. All I can say is that they are all knowledgeable and very professional and David was always available to talk to me directly if I had concernés.

Expérience négative: Would not recommend. My husband and I purchased a house through the Weir Team. David is the most knowledgeable in the team. He knows the area and is an experienced realtor. That being said, don’t expect them to look after you. We had expressed issues with the contract and conditions but our concerns were dismissed by both Chelsea and David. It seemed that every time there is an issue or we needed anything from them they are conveniently out of town. After the sale was final there was zero follow up on their part. Considering the amount of commission they made on our home, one could expect a congratulations at minimum. Would not recommend Team Weir.

We put our house up for sale two weeks ago, we were quite surprised on the amount of interest and how many showings we had.
