Negative experience: I been living in a house that is "managed" by this place. The service they provide is awful, the house is falling apart they have been asked by the out of town owner to fix the issues and still nothing. Don't ever rent from these people.

Negative experience: My experience with Northstar has been extremely frustrating, and I would strongly advise against renting any apartment or room from them. Since moving in, I've encountered numerous issues, including problems with the alarm, parking, stove burner, bathroom lock, toilet flush, and even the kitchen exhaust. Despite sending multiple emails, I haven't received any responses. Once the lease is signed, they seem to completely disregard their customers. This has truly been the worst experience I've had.

Negative experience: they will shut off your power without notice or reason even though you are paid up.... and then blame you like a dirty rat instead of being a man about the problem..... never heard a good thing about these wanna be management

Fantastic experience: I have come here to write this review for Abhi from Northstar Property Management. I was in touch with Abhi in order to renting an apartment for my family in Sault Ste Marie. I must say Abhi is a very responsible and helpful person. He is truly an asset to an organisation he is associated with. We have to close our deal with another property management company due to the availability part of it but I am very thankful to Abhi for all his help and efforts towards our requirements. Negative experience: They are liars and would have a one star rating if it weren’t for all their FAKE reviews on both google and Facebook. Check out the Facebook profiles of all the good reviews and that will start to show what kind of people are running this business. I had made a review similar to this last year which they proceeded to comment calling me a liar, then somehow got the review removed. So here it is but updated. Northstar manages local rental properties but does not prioritize any repairs. Many City by law work orders have been sent out to landlord regarding structural damage and holes on rental house last summer and still have not been addressed. There’s been black mold present in the home which has not need addressed, Rats have been invading living space and after being notified about all the entrance points both inside and out, and the fact that an exterminator was needed, after following up with no results, renter had to seal inside holes and contact as well as pay for exterminator out of pocket with no reimbursement because consultants at North Star as well as the landlord apparently determined that having rats constantly invading living space is not an emergency or a matter to be promptly dealt with by requiring no reimbursement because North Star “didn’t approve it.” On top of all the issues, communication there between the company seems to be flawed. Terrible “customer service” to say the least. With all of this said, they argued, gave attitude, lied saying that they have licences pest control people working for them, yet they clearly know absolutely nothing about rats or anything. I caught the guy Jamie lying to me about that on numerous occasions. And then said that a bunch of the crucial work would be repaired the next week. 2 weeks later, received an eviction letter from them saying that rent wasn’t paid which is was. (Second time that has happened) when contacted about that eviction notice and the work that still hasn’t been done yet again, president and ceo, Jason said yes it was paid, then continued to say that he would treat us how we treated him. All because after a year we had to go to the ltb to get reimbursement. Very very petty unprofessional company. They will also always show up to your home unannounced. I highly recommend not considering business with this joke of a company that supports slumlords as they are slumlords. After northstar refused reimbursement for all the temporary sealing of spray foam/steel mesh etc done by renter and refused reimbursement for the renter having to contact and pay for pest control for rat infestation, they still won’t fix the holes inside because they are temporarily foam sealed by renter which won’t even be reimbursed? They now say if rats continue coming out /once they chew through the foam, then they would fix what they need to. Our driveway is very uneven and muddy which they refuse to fix as well as a rotted ply wood “deck” at our steps that have rats living in it.. Literally everything that must be done, we needed to go through the city and have the city bring them to court and legally order them to do what’s legally required. They cut every corner possible. There definitely are some nice, knowledgeable workers, however the way things are managed as well as the way the tenants are treated is unacceptable. Owner is Jason Naccarato. Stay far away from this company.

Negative experience: If there was an option for 0 OR -5 stars i would have done that. Don’t waste your time contacting these guys for any of your needs. They left me hanging for 5 days saying that someone will call me or email me. I had a chance to arrange a showing since the landlord had posted an ad of their own. The landlord agreed to rent the place to me, i was happily ready to rent the place. And after all that i still didn’t have a place. Thanks to this establishment. If you are looking for a place go for private deals or any other property management company but this. I can keep on complaining about them but i don’t want to waste any more of my time on this stupid company since i don’t expect them to help me out anyways. UPDATE : They are such an unprofessional business, they left me hanging during the application saying someone will call me to get more info from me. Never received any call or email when i was applying. And once i posted the review, all of a sudden received multiple calls pretending to help me and they even called and THREATENED me to take my review down otherwise they’ll make me look bad on google. WOW good job Northstar. UPDATE : As if THREATENING me on a call was not enough, Now they are going around and telling people not to rent their place to me. According to these guys i am a liar. Where on the other hand i was a victim of their unprofessionalism and bad communication within their team and with their customers. If i am such a liar and this company is the only honest people in the world then i should have been the only one putting a bad review for these dumb dumbs.

Negative experience: I don’t know how they get 4.4 star i think it’s all purchased because there is no facilities in property and when we inform them, the lady said they will come they will come. I think it is third class management. Heater, shower and gas is not working. There is no fan in any of the room. Even no lights in hall how can we adjust that. It was disgusting.

Negative experience: I haven’t heard one good thing about this company or management team. They do not attend to their tenets in emergency situations, they do not provide information on when they show up at their rental properties(showing up unannounced). Some of the houses that they show for rent are disgusting and not suitable to live in but they will over charge with ridiculous prices. Some of these houses have mould growing, rats, windows that don’t open(emergency hazard), and so much more. They take advantage of vulnerable people and don’t do well with individuals that are aware of these situations going on. It just makes me upset knowing that this company is taking advantage of so many of our citizens… If needing to rent an apartment or property, please go else where because Northstar properties will do nothing besides disappoint. I know this because I was once a tenet.

The person that answers the phone is not very polite either. Its like we have to argue with him to get things done here on Breton Rd apartments

Negative experience: Not sure how they got the reviews they did. Absolutely ZERO effort on their part. When I finally got ahold of someone, they basically told me to do all the leg work. Application they eventually sent was a money grab. Then a week after I secure a place, without them, they call me. Not a very good business model to have. If I could give zero stars I would. UPDATE: After Northstar's response...I was not willing to provide my credit information or credit card to make a payment for an application when a company cannot even be bothered to get back to me. A legit business does not not respond to potential customers. They forgot to add that it took them two weeks to get that application to me. Oh wait, not to me, my boyfriend as they clearly have an issue dealing with females.

Negative experience: Me and my friend took a house from them and had bitter and devastating experience. When she tried explaining it in the review, they just accused her to be faking the story. I was with her the whole days and we never slept in that house peacefully and we discussed about this and the utilities problems to our agent, Inder and that day she told us that the issue is with the owner and the owner is the one who isn’t providing anything. And now they say we are faking everything. We even contacted an advocate who is a family friend of mine and he advices us to go to tenants board but since we are students we have a lots of other stuffs going on. They provided us with a stove and fridge after 12 days which was unhygienic and later we had to find a replacement since we had no security there. They are did nothing when we needed them and now we hope before the new tenants moved in they repaired everything and claiming that they did those initially

Negative experience: The application service they use is a scam, once they get your money they stop responding. Phone numbers are conveniently not working either. Manager then messaged me over Facebook to insult me telling me my credit was an issue, yet over the phone offered me a much smaller place for the same amount, after contacting the application service they use I was refunded and will go through anyone else. Definitely not worth the hassle, find a more professional company.

Negative experience: Rented me a 2 bedroom apartment, infested with mice , pigeons living in the attic, and a flea infestation. We had no running water in our kitchen for weeks, on more than one occasion. Many other issues, but I won't go into that. Very evasive, when called to fix these things. Still trying to rent it out, before getting rid of infestations or fixing water lines? Be careful to check the apartments for everything before renting. You may regret it , if you don't.
