Fantastic experience: Professional, knowledgeable, and caring! My partner and I were looking for our first home in Victoria and after meeting with a few realtors, we chose Rob Rolston and Michelle Martin to work with. Every realtor 'knows the market' and 'has their clients interest at heart' but what separated Rob and Michelle for us when we met them was their comfortable confidence, their flexible schedules, and some thoughtful answers to our questions: they made the point of watching for any red flags in a house or near it that we may not notice and talked about how they value the relationship with us over the sale. They did not disappoint. We mainly dealt with Rob, but on the rare occasion our schedules conflicted, Michelle made herself available and was equally a pleasure to work with. We ended up seeing a lot of houses, and pausing our search a couple times and Rob was patient and ready the whole time. During every showing, they were very professional, always positive and well mannered. We never felt rushed and their friendly approach made it easy for us to be very comfortable with them throughout the process. Rob was always very responsive with our messages and requests, and was quick to let us know details about the status of a house if there was an urgency attached. While we hope to not move again for a long while, we would definitely work with Rob and Michelle when the time comes. Fantastic experience: Hands down, the best realtors we’ve ever had. Michele and Deb handled our listing likes masters. They know the local market inside and out and they know all the players. They priced our house perfectly, staged it beautifully, and the photos and video were just incredible. When the listing hit the market, the showings came fast and furious. They brought us multiple competing offers and handled the negotiations perfectly, ensuring that the potential buyers knew they had to bring their best terms. The winner was $110,000 over the asking price (and this was in a cool market!). Unfortunately, that buyer backed out but, undaunted, Michele and Deb worked the phones and quickly brought us three more offers with another over-asking price. Now, other realtors might move on at that point, but Michele and Deb stayed in constant contact working right through to closing. They earned every penny of their commission. Fantastic experience: I wanted to share an amazing realty experience with Holmes Realty. First of all, they are based in Sidney BC and if you are looking for property in Sidney or North Saanich area, they are the best. They have been operating for many years with real estate here and they know their market inside out. We were looking for a 2-bedroom condo that would take our 2 small dogs and we wanted something in or close by Sidney. Contacted their website and they assigned Mariann to us. She is solely a buyer realtor, so only works on the buying side. When we met her - she provided excellent research for the area and had several good properties to show us. In the end, we landed on a new condo just outside Sidney. It met all our requirements: newer property, allows small dogs (2), close to the Ferries and Airport and in a nice quiet area. I appreciate your offer of a follow up call but the intention of this review was just that, to review for others our experience - and also now add, as you have stated, that representing a group of buyers or sellers is not an area you have expertise in. Thank you again for your response and best wishes. Original review: We were extremely disappointed with our experience working with Holmes Realty. Prior to engaging the services of Michele Holmes and Debra Bartlett, they visited the property and were well informed of the sentimentality in selling it and the significant emotional aspect. The property was listed with them as the selling agents and sold within one week for over asking. Not only were the agents well informed of what a significant decision the listing and sale was for us as owners, but it was also a $2 million property that sold almost immediately upon listing and with no subject to’s. To get absolutely zero follow up or thank you for the business was in contrast to every other realtor we’ve worked with in the past or that we’ve heard from others. We only decided to work with Holmes Realty because of a recommendation from an out of town realtor who noted that they were familiar with the area. Now after having this experience we thought it disappointing enough to take the time to write a review. We would not recommend to colleagues, friends, or family (or anyone reading this review!) - and will definitely not use again.

Terry Stockus, our Holmes Realty realtor, was just that -- excellent in all ways. We had exactly 3 days to find a house to purchase in Victoria for our family, and Terry helped us through all the minutiae of the process. There are so many decisions to make when buying a house in a new city -- neighborhoods, schools, walkability, transit options, bicycling infrastructure, commuting time, etc -- and Terry helped us make the best decision possible, taking all these factors into account. We've worked with many real estate agents in the past, and Terry is easily the best for home purchases. Following negotiating an offer, she helped us coordinate all contract details, including inspections, legal logistics, banking, etc. She's astute, warm, personable, keeps track of tons of things at the same time, and is completely tireless.
